What is Hope to Dream?
United Way of the Greater Dayton Area partners with Morris Home to provide beds for children in need through our annual Hope to Dream event. Each year, at least 100 children across Montgomery, Greene, and Preble Counties receive a brand-new bed of their own.
A safe, comfortable bed is essential for a child’s physical health, emotional well-being, and overall development. That’s why each child receives not only a brand-new bed, but also comforters, pajamas, books, sheets, teddy bears, and more—giving them a cozy and safe place to sleep. Families also receive information about United Way programs to connect them with additional resources and support.
The event begins with the unveiling of a gym filled with beds. After the reveal, volunteers prepare each one for delivery, ensuring that children can enjoy the comfort of their new bed that very same night.
Since the inception of Hope to Dream, more than 450 beds have been delivered to children throughout our three-county service area.
