Communities
need three elements to support a solid economic base and thrive:
- A
sound educational system.
-
A rich cultural environment.
-
A stable, caring infrastructure that can meet the needs of the
less fortunate.
The
third element is best addressed by your support of our local United
Way and
its
network of 81 Partner Agencies.
| Last
year in your backyard:
- 3.3 million pounds of food were
distributed among local food pantries.
- 23,131 people in need calling an
information and referral telephone service were linked with
services that could help.
- 200 volunteers were trained and
180 put their skills into action responding to local and
national disasters.
