Mercy Manor

I have learned the meaning of gratitude on a daily basis as a result of being a resident at Mercy Manor.  So I made an extra effort to do things asked of me - getting up on time, doing my chores, respecting the feelings of others, smiling when I don't always feel like it.  After all, it's not about Brenda all the time.  Mercy Manor has truly given me a new lease on life.  I thank my higher power whom I choose to call "Jesus" for truly allowing a miracle to happen in my life, by a bed becoming available at a time when I had no where else to go - no where - because at that time, people still weren't willing to open up their doors due the the wreckage of my past.  Today, I can thank my Father in the name of Jesus, because as the promises say, "We'll be amazed before we're halfway through."  People are seeing the result of my Father cleaning me up, restoring me to sanity, and relieving me from the obsession and compulsion to do drugs and alcohol, one day at a time.  I thank Mercy Manor and God.

Mercy Manor helped me re-enter society when I got out of jail.  I needed a safe environment to go to, one with structure and discipline.  It helped me learn to live my life soberly, responsibly and spiritually.  Without Mercy Manor, I honestly don't know how I would have made it.  The staff members are all beautiful people who are genuinely concerned for the welfare of women.  They really care.  They didn't make me feel like just another client.  The love and acceptance in Mercy Manor helped bring about the peace and happiness I feel inside.  The blessings are still happening in my life since I have been living right, and I know I never have to go back to the life I used to have.  Thank you Mercy Manor for all you've done in my life.

First and foremost Mercy Manor means peace of mind.  It offers a safe and protective environment consistign of a loving home-sylle atmosphere.  It's the parents that I never had.  It is a listening ear, or a strong shoulder when I need to cry or have someone to lean on.  It gives me courage.  Its's not a place for enabling or carrying when I am able to walk on my own.  It allows me to be all that I can be, and understand who I was, and who I choose to be.

I have so much gratitude and appreciation for the support Mercy manor gave me and continues to give me.  Mercy Manor offered me a safe environment and a home.  Mercy Manor gave me a chance to address issues and feel safe.  Today, I bring others to Mercy Manor for the same blessings.
