Community Assessment
Health and Human Service Needs in the Greater Dayton Area

Before we can begin to make a positive impact on our community, we must first understand both the community's needs and the resources available to meet those needs.  The Community Assessment was developed by both United Way staff and numerous community leaders to take a detailed look at the health and human service needs in Montgomery, Greene and Preble Counties.  Their findings shaped United Way's 2005-2008 allocations process and provide a wealth of information to help facilitate effective community planning in the Greater Dayton Area.

United Way of the Greater Dayton Area continues to update the assessment in order to understand our community's emerging needs and align our work and initiatives to meet those needs.  Whether you work for a nonprofit organization, are involved in community planning efforts, or are just curious about the characteristics of your own neighborhood, the Assessment is a vital resource to help us build a stronger community.
